Puzzling Pink Sludge on Remote Tasmanian Beach Spurs Fears of Potential Algae Outbreak
Officials in Tasmania are striving to determine a rosy sludge that has surfaced on a isolated coast, with some scientists worried it could be an algal bloom.
Extensive Occurrence On Coastline
The magenta-hued slime materialized across a portion of Randalls Bay about 60km south of the city. A comparable ooze has also been recorded on parts of another local beach and a separate bay.
