Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
